There have been many times throughout my life when I have encountered someone who thinks that they are absolutely horrible at manifesting things for themselves. Worse is when someone has had such poor success that they no longer believe that manifestation is even a thing. They become harsh, critical and self-loathing as a result of their failures in the art of manifestation. So, I thought it might be good to take a moment and share a few tips on how to successfully manifest things for your life. So, here goes.
- Manifestation is not a Santa wish list. To treat it as such is to disrespect the energies that would have otherwise cooperated with you in your manifestation. Make sure that you are not simply trying to manifest frivolous things. It is more about what is needed than what is simply wanted. For example, I would not “manifest” an iced coffee. I can buy my own iced coffee. But I might manifest a parking spot downtown if I absolutely have to go there (something I never enjoy). Parking is at a premium downtown, so it is appropriate to manifest a parking spot. It is something I would need in order to get to an appointment.
- When we manifest we have to truly believe ourselves to be worthy of the manifestation. If we are coming from a place of unworthiness then this will sabotage the manifestation. If you want to be successful in manifestation, then make sure you work on your worthiness issues and get those sorted out before beginning.
- False humility is something that is tied into lack of worthiness. “Who? Me? I couldn’t possibly…” will kill it every single time. It is not that you need to come from a place of total entitlement. But you do need to come from a place of worthiness and pride in self.
- Be very specific. Our wording of what we are manifesting matters. You don’t want to manifest “a better job than the crappy job I currently have.” You just manifested another equally crappy job. Manifesting “the perfect job for me” works much better. It keeps the negative energy out of the manifestation process. Also, be specific within the specified manifestation. If you were to manifest more passion in your life and just leave it at that, you may experience passionate rage directed towards you. Instead, if it is romance or erotic passion that your are wanting to manifest, say that. Don’t be vague.
- Do not allow yourself to go to a place of “If I manifest this for myself then I am denying someone else that same thing.” The Universe does not act like that, no matter what Hollywood or religion tries to say about it. There is plenty to go around. And if someone else does not have that in their life, then they either don’t want it or have not figured out for themselves how to create that. You can guide them if you like, but you cannot manifest it for them. They have to do the work. And whatever you do, do NOT pity them or feel sorry for them. That is something that also sabotages their ability to manifest it for themselves. This is why, if I am unwell, and someone says to me, “I will pray for you,” I tell them to absolutely NOT do that and that they do not have my permission for such a thing. I do not need their worry, concern, pity etc sabotaging my ability to heal or to manifest better health. And if they must pray, then I suggest that they simply pray that I get the assistance that I need. Period.
- Be prepared to receive your manifestation. You cannot put your order in and then specify when you are ready to receive it. Be ready NOW, before you even voice your manifestation. And yes, it needs to be voiced, out loud, even if there is nobody else in the room with you. And sometimes it works better if there is noone else around, because their criticism or opinions of what you should manifest, whether or not you can manifest it, and whether or not you deserve your manifestation, can sabotage it all.
- Vision boards. My opinion of these is that they are New Agey. It is not that they don’t work, but folks need to understand that putting a picture of a mansion on a vision board does not magically make one land in your lap free of charge. The photo is meant to be an inspiration. Something that you can use to program your subconscious mind (the actual manifester) to show you how to achieve. Once the subconscious mind “gets the picture” it will lead you in directions that will help you to achieve your goal. But you still need to work for it.
- It tends to work better to manifest something within yourself than it does to manifest something around you in the outside world. Manifesting world peace? Good luck with that. This also falls into the category of manipulation magic, which is unethical, because you are wanting YOUR vision of world peace to be obeyed by everyone else on the planet. Not cool. Manifesting peace within yourself? There ya go!
- You don’t need to know how to work magic in order to manifest. I mean, it helps, but it isn’t absolutely necessary. One of the most important things is to simply and clearly set an intent within yourself. The conscious mind acts as the navigator. Then the subconscious mind will lead you to the right time and place to embrace the manifestation. Imagine for a moment that you are in a strange city. You are hungry and want Tai food. Suddenly, as you are walking or driving, there is a Tai restaurant right there. Your conscious mind wanted something particular (not Asian, Mexican, Italian, etc…Tai) and your subconscious mind then brought you to a Tai restaurant…immediately. Coincidence? Perhaps. But I view coincidence as the point at which our will and the will of the Universe intersect. It is not random or accidental. We set an intention and then the manifestation happens. That was a particular intention. It was not just, “Let’s go out to eat somewhere.” It was, “I want Tai food.” That is when it works. There was no spell casting involved. There was no cauldron or magical oil etc. It was pure intent. It was not manifesting that someone build a Tai resaurant in a nearby location. It was an intent that led you to see the sign for the restaurant that was there all along. Perhaps, if you were walking, some of your common senses were also involved, such as the scent of Tai food wafting from the restaurant down the street. That is also a part of your subconscious mind working to help you to notice that scent above and beyond all other scents all around you. And it is natural. This is not “of the devil,” as some folks would want to believe. It is simply a natural flow with the energy all around us. That energy has always been there, long before any religion was ever created by humans.
- Be alert to when even the smallest of manifestations happen for you. As you do this your mind becomes more receptive to the possibilities. That receptivity is something that helps each and every manifestation to take place. The mind is like a parachute. It works best when it is open. The more we notice, the more open minded we become, and thus the likelihood of the manifestation increases exponentially. Remember to also be patient with the process. Manifestation does not happen instantly. Sometimes it takes a while to develop. While you are waiting, remember to meditate on your goal and take any practical steps towards manifesting it.
These are just a few things to keep in mind as you are venturing into manifesting the life that you prefer. It need not be complicated, but if you follow the suggestions, taking them to heart and doing the work to clear out internal obstacles, you will have much more success with it than many others, who treat it like a Santa’s wish list, will ever have.
