Over the years I have found that there have been times when I have had definite prophetic visions of upcoming events…events that have not even been conceived of as yet. Often I have, in conversation, mentioned these things to folks and they often have the same questions about them:
Are they necessarily going to happen? If it is something bad, then why not try to stop it? How the heck does it work that you would know this ahead of time? Are you sure that you are not manifesting this stuff? The list goes on.
So I thought that I would share my perspectives on this topic because I know that I am not the only one who experiences prophetic visions. Perhaps it will help others who also experience this.
First off, no matter what it is, I am always of the opinion that it is not written in stone. A lot of people who have prophetic visions think that these are indeed a certainty. The thing is that there are so many factors involved between the receiving of the vision and the unfolding of events leading to it, that there can be multitudes of things that alter the timeline, thus creating a different outcome. So I never sweat it when I receive something. I simply prepare for JUST IN CASE it should come to pass.
If the vision is of something that people would consider to be “bad,” it is not my job to try to prevent it from happening. I, too, have free will and get to pick and choose what I spend my energy on. Yes, there have been some things that have been prevented because I was able to shift things a bit…dropping hints, giving warnings, asking Spirit to find a softer and less painful way for people to learn their lessons, and so on…but those are not as common as the prophetic visions that keep flooding in. Some things have come to pass no matter what I have done to prevent them. Such is life. And who am I to think that I get to dictate what the future holds just because I get a glimpse of it? I am not God/Goddess. I do not have that responsibility. Besides, what I might see as “bad” could possibly be exactly what is needed for something else to be able to take place that is a thousand times better.
I believe that the reason anyone gets prophetic visions or dreams is because time is not actually linear. Time is more spherical in nature. Science is finally beginning to catch up on this simple fact. So from any given location within that sphere a person who is receptive can possibly see an event takes place that, in a linear way, is in the “future,” but in a spherical way is simply happening NOW along with everything else in the Now. I believe that the reason more people do not have prophetic visions is because they have not been allowed to explore that after the first time it happened. They have been told negative things like “that is of the devil” or “that is all just in your head…you’re crazy to think…” and so on. However, studies have been done on tribal people around the world (people who do not adhere to “conventional” thought systems) and it has been found that a vast number of them are “psychic” in one way or another. Some are excellent at remote viewing. Some are excellent telepaths. Some are astounding healers. What they all do have in common is that they are more connected to nature itself than the average person in society would ever hope to be. And because of this connection they have not been conditioned out of their NATURAL gifts. For me it has always be UNNATURAL to have no awareness of one’s gifts and abilities. It has been unnatural to have a period of not remembering dreams and not receiving visions. Perhaps this is because I, too, have been so connected to nature as I was growing up. Perhaps it is also because most of my family members also have gifts and abilities and these have been openly discussed over coffee or dinner, instead of being shut down out of fear.
As to whether or not I am actually the one manifesting events, be they private or world events, just because I see them ahead of time, I have a question in response….WHY WOULD I? Knowing something ahead of time does not make you the creator of that thing that is known. It simply means that you are tuned in on the frequencies in the air, much like a radio will tune into certain stations being broadcast. Events, and actions leading up to them, are like a broadcast of certain frequencies. The fact that I, or anyone else, picks up on those frequencies does not mean that we are manifesting. It simply means that on some level we are receiving the message that is being broadcast.
There will always be some dimwit (and I use this term as nicely as I can possibly muster up from within myself) who will say stuff like, “I made that happen,” in an ego trip, just because they picked up on an event. But when I ask them why they did, they have no answer, other than, “because I have no control of my gifts.” This makes so little sense that I have to just laugh and walk away. You cannot hold a guitar and strum the strings without knowing how to form chords and call that “playing guitar.” You have to spend time learning how to form chords, how to play those chords well, how those chords interact with other chords. You have to learn some theory and you have to learn some songs. Then you have to practice each song about 10,000 times to actually be able to play it well. The same thing goes for personal gifts. It is not enough to just own a guitar. It is not enough to just have a gift. You have to spend time and effort learning how to use it. And you will need someone to teach you who also knows how to do this. So find that person and get on it. Otherwise you are simply acting like a five year old with the car keys.
When it comes to gifts and abilities one must be responsible with their use. When it comes to visions of future events, it is more about preparation for the possibility than it is about the preventing of the unfolding.
