Sometimes one cannot escape the gifts one has, no matter how hard one tries. I have a lot of folks come to me, asking if I can help them to open themselves up to their inner gifts. Yes, I can. However, there are also those who come to me for help in toning down their inner gifts because they can become overwhelming. The reasons for the overwhelm vary from person to person. But one that seems to come up more often than others is self-blame.
When a person has a prophetic vision or dream and they know ahead of time that something is going to happen, and then that something does, indeed, happen, the person often feels guilt and self-blame for not being able to stop whatever it was that they saw unfolding in advance of the actual event. If that is not enough, sometimes other people involved who find out about the vision blame the person for doing nothing at all to prevent it from unfolding, no matter how hard the person tried to prevent it. They equate the prophetic vision with manifestation of said event.
The thing is that in doing so you might as well blame a person who hears about some event happening on the radio or social media before it takes place for actually causing that event. Sometimes people are just tuned into a different frequency and thus get glimpses of the future. That does not mean that they are in any way responsible for or to that future event. And it is important to remember that people with prophetic visions often will try to get the information to the right folks to prevent something from happening if that something is horrific. But others don’t always wish to listen to the person with the visions. And there have been instances where the person with the vision is later held responsible for the event simply because they tried to warn people. Authorities often think that there is no way that the person could have known about this if they were not somehow involved.
The thing is, simply being a human being is often the only thread of connection that is required for the person to receive the visions. They need not have met anyone or done anything beyond the act of being born on this earth with a gift in order to receive the visions.
Admittedly, there have been times (many of them) when I have also held my tongue when it comes to visions and messages from beyond. Why? Because I do not need the drama of being blamed for something that I had nothing to do with creating. Believe me, it has happened to yours truly and after awhile it gets really boring to have to deal with small-minded folks who have nothing better to do with their time than point fingers. Also, I have a strong and non-varying opinion that, just because we have a gift, it does not mean that we are obligated in any way to use it to pry into anything that is none of our business. So even if I do have a vision of something to come, I am not obligated to do anything about that. Things often happen just because the wheels have been already set in motion. My vision of it unfolding is nothing more than being perceptive of the situation at hand. I am not required to do anything about it one way or the other.
I feel strongly that the visions are simply our third eye or our Spirit preparing us for what is to come. Much like when you get into a vehicle and put your seatbelt on. Will having a seat belt on prevent an accident? No. Will it possibly save you during the accident? Absolutely…or not, depending on the extent of the accident. Your chances of survival are, however, exponentially increased if your seatbelt is on and done up properly. However, the fact that you thought to put your seatbelt on does not qualify you for the cause of the accident at all.
